United States Attorney Moore Capito is scheduled to hold a press conference on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Robert C. Byrd U.S. Courthouse in Charleston. The event will take place following sentencing hearings for Tiwan Robert Bailey and Carrie Roy, who were convicted of multiple sex trafficking offenses.

Bailey faces sentencing on three counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, one count of sex trafficking of a minor, one count of conspiring to commit sex trafficking of a minor, and one count of obstruction of justice. Roy is set to be sentenced on one count each of sex trafficking of a minor and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a minor. Both individuals are from Charleston and were found guilty by a federal jury on September 29, 2025, after a five-day trial.

The press conference will occur only if the sentencing hearings—scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.—are completed as planned.
