Texas man sentenced for damaging Bluefield federal building

Will Adrian Samuels, a 48-year-old resident of Jefferson, Texas, was sentenced on Mar. 24 to time served and ordered to pay $1,990.84 in restitution after being convicted of destruction of government property.

The case concerns an incident that took place on November 19, 2023, when Samuels threw objects at two glass exterior doors at the front of the Elizabeth Kee Federal Building in Bluefield, West Virginia. The damage caused by this act exceeded $1,000.

United States Attorney Moore Capito announced the sentencing and acknowledged the investigative efforts of the United States Marshals Service as well as assistance from both the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and the Wytheville Police Department in Virginia.

Senior United States District Judge David A. Faber presided over sentencing. Assistant United States Attorney D. Keith Randolph prosecuted the case.
