Texas man pleads guilty to damaging Bluefield federal building

Will Adrian Samuels, 48, from Jefferson, Texas, pleaded guilty to destruction of government property in federal court in Bluefield, West Virginia. According to information presented in court, on November 19, 2023, Samuels damaged the Elizabeth Kee Federal Building by repeatedly throwing objects at two glass exterior doors at the front of the building. The incident resulted in damages exceeding $1,000.

Samuels is set for sentencing on December 8, 2025. He faces a possible maximum sentence of ten years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine that could reach $250,000.

Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston announced the plea and recognized the efforts of the United States Marshals Service (USMS), with additional support from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and the Wytheville Police Department in Virginia.

Senior United States District Judge David A. Faber oversaw the proceedings. Assistant United States Attorney D. Keith Randolph is handling prosecution for this case.
