Tomez Faulkner, a 38-year-old resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a firearm. The incident occurred after Ohio County Sheriff’s deputies stopped to assist a driver on the side of Interstate 70 whose vehicle had its hazard lights on. Deputies found Faulkner inside the car with a 9mm pistol.

Faulkner is not allowed to possess firearms due to previous convictions for drug offenses and assault. He now faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in federal prison. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other relevant legal factors.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Clayton Reid. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, along with the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, conducted the investigation. The proceedings were overseen by U.S. Magistrate Judge James P. Mazzone.
