Parkersburg man pleads guilty to methamphetamine distribution charge

Kevin Wayne Gardner, a 42-year-old resident of Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. The plea was entered in federal court.

Court records show that on June 16, 2025, law enforcement officers stopped Gardner’s vehicle in the Parkersburg area of Wood County. During a search of the vehicle, officers found about two pounds of methamphetamine.

Gardner is set for sentencing on June 25, 2026. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years and could receive up to life in prison. Additionally, he may be subject to at least five years of supervised release and a fine that could reach $10 million.

United States Attorney Moore Capito announced the plea and recognized the efforts of the Parkersburg Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force along with the Wood County Sheriff’s Office for their work on the case.

The hearing was overseen by United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston. Assistant United States Attorney Jeremy B. Wolfe is handling prosecution duties.
