Demarcus R. Brown, a 22-year-old from Akron, Ohio, has been sentenced to 100 months in federal prison for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute. The sentence was handed down in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Court documents reveal that Brown was found at a residence in Marshall County during a search by investigators. Authorities seized over 300 grams of methamphetamine and nearly 12 grams of fentanyl at the scene. Brown also has prior convictions related to firearms.
After completing his prison term, Brown will be subject to three years of supervised release.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Clayton Reid on behalf of the government. The investigation was conducted by the Marshall County Drug Task Force, which is funded through HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas).
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the case.
