James Mansfield Davis, a 68-year-old resident of Morgantown, West Virginia, has been sentenced to an additional year in federal prison after failing to surrender for a prior sentence. The sentencing took place in Elkins, West Virginia.

Court records show that Davis was previously ordered to serve 82 months in federal prison following his conviction on a child pornography charge in the Northern District of West Virginia. He did not report as required on October 4, 2024. Authorities apprehended him eleven days later in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Following completion of his new sentence, Davis will be subject to three years of supervised release.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Cogar prosecuted the case for the government. The United States Marshals Service led the investigation. Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the proceedings.
