John Ryan Zajac, a 31-year-old resident of Parkville, Maryland, has been sentenced to 135 months in federal prison for offenses related to firearms and cocaine. Court records indicate that Zajac tried to exchange controlled substances for firearms using social media platforms. Authorities arrested him during the attempted transaction and found both cocaine and a 9mm pistol in his possession. Due to previous convictions for armed robbery and firearms violations, Zajac was not legally allowed to possess firearms.

Following his prison term, Zajac will be subject to three years of supervised release. The prosecution was led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle Kane. The Bureau for Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives conducted the investigation into the case. U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh oversaw the proceedings.
