Logan County brothers plead guilty to federal drug charges

Today in Charleston, West Virginia, two brothers from Bruno pleaded guilty to federal drug charges. Timothy Ray Gravley, aged 41, admitted to possession with intent to distribute over 400 grams of fentanyl. His brother, Jessie Joe Gravley II, aged 42, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine and quantities of fentanyl and heroin.

The court documents revealed that law enforcement executed a search warrant on October 17, 2024. At Timothy’s residence, they found 559.69 grams of fentanyl along with firearms and $20,131 in cash. Jessie’s home yielded 250.1 grams of methamphetamine “ice,” along with heroin, cocaine, and $19,243.

Timothy acknowledged his intention to distribute the fentanyl locally and admitted selling small amounts on two occasions for $700 total. Jessie also confessed to distributing drugs locally and sold controlled substances twice for a combined total of $1,300.

Both brothers are set for sentencing on November 6, 2025. They face a minimum sentence of ten years up to life imprisonment.

Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston announced the plea agreement while commending the DEA and the U.S. Route 119 Drug Task Force for their investigative efforts.

United States District Judge Irene C. Berger oversaw the proceedings with Assistant United States Attorney JC MacCallum prosecuting the cases.
