Mark Radford, a 33-year-old resident of Huntington, West Virginia, received a sentence today for possession of child pornography. The court ordered him to time served and 15 years of supervised release, including six months under home detention. Additionally, Radford is required to register as a sex offender.

The case details reveal that law enforcement officers seized Radford’s cell phone on November 3, 2020. A forensic examination uncovered approximately 22 images showing minors involved in sexually explicit activities. Radford admitted to downloading these images from the internet and acknowledged that some depicted prepubescent children.

Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston announced the sentencing and praised the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for their investigative efforts.

United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers delivered the sentence, while Assistant United States Attorneys Lesley C. Shamblin and Julie M. White handled the prosecution.

This case was part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at addressing child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide. The project involves collaboration among federal, state, and local resources to locate and prosecute individuals who exploit children sexually and to identify victims for rescue.
