Nolvin Alfredo-Diaz, a 43-year-old Honduran citizen residing illegally in Lewisburg, West Virginia, has been sentenced to three years in prison for reentry of a removed alien. The sentence was handed down by Chief United States District Judge Frank W. Volk. Following his prison term, Alfredo-Diaz will be transferred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for deportation proceedings.

Court documents reveal that ICE agents arrested Alfredo-Diaz on August 21, 2024, in Lewisburg. He admitted to being a Honduran citizen living unlawfully in the United States and acknowledged his previous deportations from the country. He lacked identification documents granting him legal status in the U.S.

Fingerprints confirmed Alfredo-Diaz’s two prior removals from the United States to Honduras after felony convictions. On September 25, 2006, he was convicted of felony heroin possession and on December 20, 2007, of felony cocaine possession, both in Denver County, Colorado District Court. His first removal occurred on December 27, 2006. After being found again in Canon City, Colorado on July 21, 2010, he was removed once more on August 5, 2010.

Alfredo-Diaz did not obtain permission from the Secretary of U.S. Homeland Security to reapply for admission following either removal nor did he attempt any other legal means to reenter the United States.

Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston announced the sentencing and praised ICE’s investigative efforts. Assistant United States Attorney Erik S. Goes prosecuted the case.
