Harrison County man pleads guilty to methamphetamine charge

James Leonard Bailey, III, a 41-year-old resident of Stonewood, West Virginia, has pleaded guilty to charges related to methamphetamine distribution. Court documents reveal that Bailey was in possession of 32 grams of methamphetamine and a firearm in Harrison County.

Bailey now faces a potential prison sentence ranging from five to 40 years. The final sentence will be determined by a federal district court judge who will take into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal factors.

The prosecution is led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christie Utt. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the Stonewood Police Department. U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided over the proceedings.
