Henry Rogers, a 66-year-old resident of Barboursville, has been sentenced to four years in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. The sentencing took place in Charleston and was handed down by United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston.
According to information presented in court, law enforcement stopped Rogers on February 17, 2023, while he was driving on U.S. Route 19 in the Birch River area of Nicholas County. During the stop, officers seized methamphetamine from Rogers’ vehicle. Rogers admitted to possessing the methamphetamine and acknowledged that officers later executed a search warrant on his vehicle, leading to the discovery of more methamphetamine and a .380-caliber pistol in the trunk. In total, authorities recovered 205.2 grams of methamphetamine from the vehicle.
Rogers also has a prior felony conviction for conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine.
